Hey everyone! Jim and I are in Moscow for our final trip to get sweet Ellie! We landed this afternoon...it was beautiful day in Moscow, sunny and warm. Our trip over was nice, we had the same flight crew we had before, it has been fun to share this with them. When we were traveling through the airport I was carrying an umbrella stroller...and several people asked if we were missing someone. We then told them no that we were flying to Moscow to get her!

We are staying in an apartment this time. It is in a great location, close to everything, we will enjoy strolling Ellie around. There is a nice little park in the back of the building, which is great. There is also a McDonalds in the front of the building and TGI Fridays across the street. We are a 10 minute walk from Red Square, and for our friends who have been here, we can see Tverskaya street from one apartment window and the Marriott Grand from the other. We are in Pushkin square.

Sasha, who owns the apartment, was here to greet us today and was so kind. He showed us where everything is and insisted on fixing us a snack. We tried to discourage him but he simply insisted on making us a frozen pizza. It was actually very good! He then took us to the grocery which is about two blocks from here...very convenient. Once "we find out all the food Ellie is on we will go back to get her "supplies". The apartment isn't what I would call "luxurious", but it is nice and functional. There is a kitchenette, living room, bathroom and two bedrooms. He is bringing a crib over on Monday. We went out to dinner tonight and bought some flowers on the streeet...I want to make it as "homey" as possible for Ellie. We will enjoy nesting and bonding here over the next week. I will post some pics of the apartment tomorrow. We are so tired and jet lagged now we need to get some sleep!

We get picked up Monday at 2 to go to the orphanage...I can hardly wait! I set up all of her "baby gear" in the other bedroom. I brought a little pink teddy bear and some nice, soft blankets for her...I can hardly wait to see her laying with them! I can't believe the time is almost here...praise God!

Good night for now, and more tomorrow!

Much love!

  1. Donna and Jim,

We can't wait to see pics of the big day! This is such exciting news -you will soon be home with sweet Ellie. Emily is much better- she sends her love to her new friend Ellie. She is resting up for their first play date! Enjoy your time in Russia with Ellie--what a blessing! Love, Margaret, Tod, Matt, and Emily.
