I am sitting here in the guest room of the apartment next to her crib, which is really a pack-n-play, watching this precious girl fighting going to sleep. She has been such a trooper all day! When they brought her to us she gave us a huge smile and giggled...what a blessing! She did great on the car ride to the apartment and even better when we got her here and played. She has a runny nose and is teething something fierce, but she has been amazingly good. When her socks hit the wood floor she fell and scared herself (and us) and whimpered, but recovered quickly. Then when we were feeding her and tried to take her food away she whimpered, but again recovered. The only full-blown cry was when I put her to bed and left the room...she cried hard then. I am sure she is afraid we won't be here when she wakes up, and is afraid of where she will be when she wakes. She is so tired now but really fighting it. It was so sweet when I put her down with her soft pink blanket, she cuddled up to it and rubbed it all over her face, then smiled at me as if to say, "this feels so good!"
I am learning so much and so is she, we are teaching each other really. I just stare at her and can't believe she is really ours now. Yipeee and praise God! As soon as she goes to sleep Jim and I are drinking some champagne and celebrating! My take out food from Fridays is awaiting me!
Thank you so much for your prayers and support...keep praying I will know what to do for her and that she gets more comfortable going to sleep.
More tomorrow.....
Much love from a NEW MOMMY! :)

I know that I am the first one to comment but I have been waiting all day to see these pics! When I got to the hospital today we could not connect to the internet so I am so excited to finally get to see your post. She has changed so much and is just so cute! Congratulation! This is such a special day! I hope she is sleeping soundly now! Love, Margaret
