This is the beautiful St. Basil's Cathedral. It was built in the 16th century by Ivan the Terrible to honor the victory over the Mongol Tatars in 1555. The legend is that Ivan had the architect's eyes poked out so he could not make anything to rival Moscow's "stone flower". There isn't one large chapel, rather there are nine different chapels and nine domes, each a different size and type. It is amazing...and they let us take pics inside!
